How to apply for the 2023 Co-op Foundation Scholarship Program

Each year, beneficiaries of the scholarships are chosen from among Kenya’s 47 counties. They are awarded full scholarships for four years of secondary school.

Scholarship Application Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  2. The student must have qualified with a minimum of 350 points in the standard eight final examinations.
  3. The student must be from a needy family that is unable to support secondary education.
  4. At least one of the parents of the student must be or have been a member of a cooperative society.
  5. Orphans will be eligible provided at least one of the deceased parents was a member of a cooperative society.
  6. Sponsorship is open to both public and private secondary schools.

Scholarship Requirements:

  1. Result slip
  2. Copy of birth certificate
  3. Form 1 admission, including fees structure
  4. A brief statement indicating why the nominee/family is deemed needy and the Co-operative Society with which the parent(s) is/ were associated.
  5. Any other document (e.g payslip, death certificate, etc) which may aid the process.

How to apply

If your child got 350 or above in the KCPE and was in public school, you can apply for a scholarship through your Sacco if you are a member of a Sacco that has a bank account with Co-op Bank.

You can also apply through your county governor’s office (Office of Education).
