The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is teaming up with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) to enhance tax awareness among students by creating specialized tax e-resources tailored to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga stressed the importance of integrating tax education into the curriculum early on, highlighting its direct impact on individuals and society. This partnership aims to develop modern tax literacy digital content, including simulation environments, to positively influence students’ perceptions of taxes. Starting with primary and secondary school pupils, the collaboration will later extend to postsecondary education and prospective taxpayers, aiming to reach a wide audience effectively. The resulting e-content will be accessible to students and the public, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the tax system.
