KUCCPS Opens Final Application Window for 2025 Intake – Deadline Set for April 30
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially announced a seven-day window for prospective students to apply for placement into degree, TVET, and Teacher Training College (TTC) programs. The application period runs until midnight on April 30, 2025.
In its latest update, KUCCPS is urging all eligible candidates, especially those who sat the 2024 KCSE, to submit their applications without delay. Once the deadline passes, the online application portal will be closed, and no further submissions will be accepted.
Who Can Apply?
- Degree Programs: Open to 2024 KCSE candidates who scored C+ and above.
- TVET Courses (Diplomas, Certificates, and Artisan): Available to students who sat their KCSE between 2000 and 2024.
- Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs): Also open to candidates from 2000 to 2024, specifically for teaching-related programs.
Concerns Over Low Application Numbers
KUCCPS has expressed concern over the low number of applications received so far. As of April 17, over 100,000 qualified students had yet to apply for university or college admission.
John Oluoch, KUCCPS Director for Placement and Career Development, emphasized the importance of early application, warning that more than half of eligible applicants had not yet completed the process.
“We urge all students not to wait until the final hours. The system may become slow due to high traffic. Apply early to avoid last-minute stress,” said Oluoch.

The agency has advised students to avoid procrastination, noting that technical issues and system overloads tend to occur closer to deadlines due to high traffic. Students are encouraged to log in to the KUCCPS portal and submit their choices promptly.
