Government to keep enhancing infrastructure in public schools

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua received a warm welcome from Education CS Ezekiel Machogu and Nandi leaders as he arrived at Kurgung Boys for a fundraiser. During the event, he emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment to enhance infrastructure in public schools nationwide, a key initiative aimed at elevating the quality of education and fulfilling President William Ruto’s electoral pledges.

Addressing the crowd at Kurgung Boys High School in Mosop, Nandi County, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua commended local leaders for prioritizing education. He urged teachers to set a positive example for their students, cautioning against excessive alcohol consumption. The successful fundraiser gathered over 3 million shillings, designated for the construction of an administration block at the school.

Expressing gratitude to the hardworking local farmers, Deputy President Gachagua encouraged them to take advantage of subsidized fertilizer to boost crop yields and generate income for their children’s education. Accompanied by Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Kosgey, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen, Deputy President Gachagua highlighted the importance of agricultural prosperity in supporting educational endeavors.

CS Kipchumba Murkomen assured residents of the Ministry of Transport’s dedication to enhancing transportation infrastructure for smoother mobility of teachers, students, and agricultural products to markets. He shared plans to tarmac a 130-kilometer road in Nandi within the current financial year, further underscoring the government’s commitment to facilitating progress and connectivity in the region.
