Machogu issues CBET certificates and result slips for TVET colleges
Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education, Dr. Ezekiel Machogu, has affirmed the government’s commitment to providing ample resources for the full implementation of Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) in Technical Vocational Training Institutes. Emphasizing the significance of technology, he stated that the government views it as a primary catalyst for achieving educational goals and fulfilling the Vision 2030 objectives. The CS made these remarks during his participation in the official release of CBET result slips and certificates at the Kenya School of TVET in Gigiri, Nairobi.
While presiding over the release event, Machogu also witnessed the unveiling of the results from the November/December 2023 assessment series, conducted by the Curriculum Development Assessment Certificate Council (CDACC). He commended the collaborative efforts of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority and CDACC in conducting a comprehensive review of the TVET curriculum. The revised curriculum aims to produce and nurture a competent and adaptable workforce equipped with hands-on skills, competence, and knowledge to meet the dynamic demands of the global market.
Machogu urged the TVET sector to embrace the Dual Training program, emphasizing the interdependence of the sector in fostering well-rounded skills development. Additionally, he encouraged students who may not have met the entry requirements for universities to consider joining Technical Training Institutes, emphasizing that these institutes provide a platform for advancing education to any desired level.
