Garsen Education Day marked a significant occasion in Tana River County, attended by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu alongside local education professionals, Members of Parliament, MCAs, and school principals. This collective participation underscored a unified effort towards advancing education in the region.
CS Machogu emphasized the importance of Education Days across all educational institutions, describing them as critical moments for stakeholders to assess progress and celebrate achievements in the educational sector. He highlighted the role of such events in recognizing and rewarding outstanding contributions, setting benchmarks, and shaping the future of education in the country.
“In acknowledging high achievers as trailblazers in education, we establish standards and pave the way for a brighter future. Education is widely acknowledged as our nation’s most vital resource,” Machogu affirmed.
Commitment to Educational Facilities and Support
A notable highlight of the event was the presentation of a school bus to Garsen School, funded through the NG-CDF, illustrating the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and ensuring students have adequate learning resources.
Garsen MP Ali Wario Hashaka, also present, reaffirmed his NG-CDF office’s prioritization of educational development. Stressing that education forms the bedrock of development, he pledged continuous support for educational initiatives and emphasized the importance of fairness and transparency in distributing bursaries to needy students.
“We understand that education is fundamental to any form of development, which is why our development committee prioritizes it,” Wario stated, expressing his commitment to sponsoring financially disadvantaged students to ensure they receive quality education.
Encouraging Discipline and Self-Control among Students
Additionally, Wario urged students to uphold discipline and exercise self-control, citing these qualities as crucial determinants of their future success. His appeal underscored the importance of personal responsibility in shaping students’ educational journeys and overall life achievements.
