Kenya School Sports 2025: Term One Games Schedule & Guidelines

Teachers from primary, junior, and secondary schools across Kenya have begun attending sports clinics in preparation for the first term sporting activities. These training sessions, initiated at the sub-county level, will progress to county and regional levels for school sports officials.
The Kenya Primary School Sports Association (KPSSA) has released a structured schedule to guide the athletics and gymnastics competitions for primary and junior schools. The competitions will commence after schools resume from the first term half-term break.
School Calendar & Half-Term Break
According to the Ministry of Education, the first term half-term break is scheduled from February 26th to March 2nd, 2025. Games will kick off immediately after schools resume.
Student Eligibility & Participation Requirements
The Kenya Primary Schools Sports Association (KPSSA) and the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) have outlined strict eligibility criteria for students participating in the games:
- Introductory Form: A duly filled form signed and endorsed by the headteacher or principal.
- Official Photograph: A recent individual photograph of the athlete with the headteacher/principal, endorsed on the back (group photos not accepted).
- Birth Certificate Copy: A photocopy of the athlete’s birth certificate, endorsed by the headteacher/principal.
Age Restrictions for Participants
- Primary Schools: Only students under 12 years can participate.
