Nova Pioneer School Bus Overturns on Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, No Fatalities Reported

A Nova Pioneer school bus overturned on the morning of Tuesday, March 25, in the Sabaki area along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. The accident, which occurred at approximately 7:30 AM, involved a bus ferrying students to school in the Mombasa-bound direction.

Students Injured, No Fatalities

Fortunately, all students on board survived the accident, though several sustained injuries and were rushed to hospitals in Athi River for medical attention.

Images and videos from the scene depict the bus lying on its right side with a shattered windshield, highlighting the impact of the crash. Authorities and emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene to assist the injured and manage traffic flow.

Fatal Matatu Crash in Nakuru County

Meanwhile, a separate road accident in Nakuru County on Tuesday morning claimed two lives at Sobea.

The tragic incident involved a 14-seater matatu owned by Ena Coach, which crashed into the rear of a cargo truck.

Disaster response officer Rachael Maru confirmed the fatalities, adding that eight passengers sustained serious injuries and were taken to Nakuru Provincial Hospital for emergency treatment.

Emergency teams responded swiftly to provide aid and clear the wreckage. Authorities have since launched investigations into both accidents, urging motorists to exercise caution on the roads to prevent further tragedies.
