TSC Teacher Promotions 2025: 189,000 Applicants Compete for 19,000 Vacancies

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has received an overwhelming 189,000 applications for the ongoing teacher promotional interviews, as it plans to promote over 19,000 teachers across the country.

The available positions include:

  • 9,179 slots for post-primary school teachers
  • 16,109 slots for primary school teachers

The promotional exercise, which commenced on January 13, 2025, is set to conclude on February 7, 2025.

Interview Process and Levels

TSC has outlined a structured interview process conducted at three levels:

  1. Sub-County Level:
    • A total of 96,640 primary school teachers were shortlisted and interviewed from January 13, with the process concluding soon to pave the way for post-primary interviews.
  2. County Level:
    • Interviews for 44,043 post-primary teachers in Job Groups C3 to D2 will take place from January 27 to February 7, 2025.
  3. Regional Level:
    • Over 7,200 principals and teachers in Job Groups D3 to D5 will face interviews at regional headquarters between January 27 and February 7, 2025.

According to the TSC notice, the promotion process aims to recognize and reward teachers based on merit and experience while ensuring fairness and transparency.

Last year, TSC successfully promoted 36,505 teachers, and the Commission is continuing its efforts to enhance career growth opportunities for educators.
