The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is recruiting 8,707 teachers to replace those who exited the profession through natural attrition. This includes 5,862 posts for primary schools, 21 for junior schools, and 2,824 for secondary schools.

Primary School Teachers

Applicants for primary school teaching positions must present the following:

  2. Certificate of Registration as a Teacher.
  3. Upgrade Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE) Certificate or evidence of completion (if applicable).
  4. Primary Teacher Education (PTE) Certificate.
  5. KCSE certificates or equivalents (including certificates for resit attempts).
  6. KCPE certificates or equivalents (including certificates for resit attempts).
  7. Letter of Certification of Results from KNEC (if applicable).
  8. Primary and Secondary School Leaving Certificates and other testimonials.

Post-Primary School Teachers

Applicants for secondary and post-primary school teaching positions must provide:
a) National Identification Card.
b) Certificate of Registration as a Teacher.
c) Diploma/Degree Certificate and official transcripts.
d) KCSE certificates or equivalents (including resit certificates).
e) KCPE certificates or equivalents (including resit certificates).
f) Primary and Secondary School Leaving Certificates and other testimonials.
g) NCPWD Card (if applicable).
h) Sworn Affidavit to explain name discrepancies.
i) Letter of Certification of Results from KNEC (if applicable).

Special Considerations

  • Serving Intern Teachers: Only their identity cards are required for verification.
  • Persons with Disabilities: They must indicate their disability status and nature to guide appropriate placement.

Merit List and Marks Allocation

After document verification, the TSC Sub-County Director will compile a Merit List of all verified applicants. The list will be accessible upon request while adhering to the Data Protection Act, 2019.

Marks Allocation

  • TSC Intern Teachers: 30 marks.
  • PTE Certificate Holders (Upgraded to UDPTE): 5 marks.

Employment Terms

Successful candidates will be employed on permanent and pensionable (PnP) terms.
