Vacancies in Administrative Positions Advertised by TSC
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has unveiled plans to address prolonged administrative gaps persisting over the last 24 months. These vacancies have arisen due to compulsory retirements, resignations, and the establishment of new roles aligning with Career Progression Guidelines.
To fill these positions, the commission is actively seeking qualified, experienced, results-oriented, and motivated individuals. There are 13 deputy director positions available across various departments, including internal auditing, teacher disciplinary management, staffing, human resources development, and teacher management. For instance, the Deputy Director of Teacher Management role requires candidates with a minimum Grade 3 status, typically held by deputy headteachers. In contrast, positions like deputy principals and senior masters necessitate applicants to possess at least Grade 5 status.
These roles will be filled through contractual engagements, and the commission encourages applications from individuals with disabilities. Prospective applicants should note that the deadline for submission of applications is February 21, 2024.
It is noteworthy that Rita Wahome, the former TSC Director of Staffing, vacated her position last year after four years and four months of service. Currently, Antonina Lentoijoni, the deputy director of the staffing department, is temporarily assuming her duties.
Earlier in the year, TSC faced uncertainty with the resignation of key officers, including Charles Gichira, the director of ICT, and Isaac Nganga, the director of internal audit. Additionally, Dr. Julius Olayo, the Director of Human Resource Management and Development, resigned after three years of service and secured a position with the Kenya Forest Services as the Deputy Director of Human Resources and Administration.
