Zetech collaborates with an Indian university to provide training in innovative technologies for students

Zetech University has established a partnership with Christ University, an Indian educational institution known for its expertise in technology. This collaboration aims to provide students with training in innovative technologies through a student exchange program. Kenyan students participating in the program will attend lectures and gain insights from experts at Christ University, located in Bengaluru, often referred to as the Silicon Valley of Asia.

The exchange program is designed to offer students international exposure, providing them with a globally competitive skills advantage. Participants will benefit from hands-on learning experiences delivered by industry experts, enhance their social skills and self-confidence, create lasting memories, and experience Indian hospitality. Zetech University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Njenga Munene, highlighted that the partnership aims to instill an innovative mindset in students, contributing to their academic excellence.

The inaugural international academic trip represents Zetech University’s commitment to ensuring its students are globally competitive and well-prepared for the future. Prof Munene emphasized that the collaboration will expose students to a variety of experiences, including visits to renowned tech firms, offering them a glimpse into the industrial world and fostering a deeper understanding of their chosen fields.

According to Prof Munene, science, technology, and innovation are fundamental to Kenya’s Vision 2030, and Zetech University is dedicated to building a highly skilled human capital that aligns with the development goals outlined in the vision. He noted that the skills most sought after in the current and future job market include enterprise resource planning, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, robotic process automation, cybersecurity, data science, blockchain technology, internet of things, digital currencies, and digital marketing and communications. As a response to these demands, Zetech University has intentionally expanded its programs in these areas, including journalism and media, where significant convergence is observed.
