Empowering Maasai Youth: Raymond Omollo Advocates for Technical Education and Continuous Learning
Raymond Omollo, the Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, has urged the Maasai community to enroll their children in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) courses across the country. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing skills through TVETs, Dr. Omollo stated that not everyone needs a degree, highlighting the availability of various technical courses that equip individuals with valuable skills. He urged students to pursue continuous learning, even if they initially scored lower grades, emphasizing the role of education in shaping destinies.
Dr. Omollo addressed parents and students during a youth mentorship meeting in Meto, Kajiado Central, organized by MP Memusi Kanchori. The MP expressed concern about the low progression of form-four candidates in the constituency, encouraging students to continue their education despite KCSE results. The meeting included representatives from educational institutions and banks guiding students on career choices.
In addition to education, Dr. Omollo addressed the issue of teen pregnancies and early marriages, urging parents to take care of their children. He emphasized the importance of safety and security measures during the festive season to prevent harm to lives and property.
