TSC Invites Teachers for Document Verification in 2025 Recruitment Drive

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has started inviting teachers for document verification in the recruitment process to replace 8,707 teachers who exited the service through natural attrition.
Breakdown of Replacement Positions
The Commission has announced the following vacancies:
- Primary Schools: 5,862 positions
- Junior Schools: 21 positions
- Secondary Schools: 2,824 positions
These positions are offered on permanent and pensionable (PnP) terms.
Required Documents for Verification
TSC has outlined the academic and professional documents that applicants must present to the recruitment panel. These include original and legible photocopies of the following documents:
For Primary School Teachers
- National Identification Card
- Certificate of Registration as a Teacher
- Evidence of completion of Upgrade Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE), where applicable
- PTE Certificate
- KCSE Certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for resit attempts)
- KCPE Certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for resit attempts)
- Letter of Certification of Results by KNEC (if applicable)
- Primary and Secondary School Leaving Certificates and other relevant testimonials
- National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) Card (if applicable)
- Affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain any variance in names
For Junior Secondary and Secondary School Teachers
- National Identification Card
- Certificate of Registration as a Teacher
- Diploma/Degree Certificate and Official Transcripts
- KCSE Certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for resit attempts)
- KCPE Certificate or its equivalent (including certificates for resit attempts)
- Primary and Secondary School Leaving Certificates and other relevant testimonials
- National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) Card (if applicable)
- Affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain any variance in names
- Letter of Certification of Results by KNEC (if applicable)
Special Considerations
- Intern teachers are only required to present their National Identification Cards during verification.
- Persons with disabilities (PWDs) must indicate their disability status and specify the nature of their disability for placement purposes.
Merit List Compilation and Public Access
Once verification is complete, the TSC Sub-County Director will compile a Merit List of all verified applicants. These lists will be made available to the public upon request while ensuring full compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2019 to protect applicants’ personal data.
Additional Scoring Criteria
- Intern teachers under TSC internship programs receive 30 bonus marks.
- PTE certificate holders who upgraded to UDPTE receive 5 bonus marks.
Recruitment Timeline
The verification process is a crucial step in the teacher recruitment exercise. The posting of successful candidates is expected to commence by the end of February 2025 and conclude in May 2025.
