Government Champions Arts and Sports Sciences in Schools Under CBC Reforms

The Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Prof. Julius Bitok, has reaffirmed the government’s strong support for the Arts and Sports Sciences pathway under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). Speaking from his office at Jogoo House, Nairobi, Prof. Bitok emphasized the transformative power of co-curricular activities in shaping learners’ academic and personal growth.

“Participation in Arts and Sports is not just a leisure activity—it’s a cornerstone for academic excellence, discipline, resilience, and promoting healthy lifestyles,” said Prof. Bitok.

He highlighted that these activities also help learners build social skills, teamwork, and character, positioning them for both academic success and career readiness.

National Support and Partnerships Boosting CBC Pathway Activities
