KNEC Contracted Professionals Payment Update: Reasons for Delays & Solutions

KNEC Contracted Professionals Payment Update: Reasons for Delays & Solutions

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) processed payments for contracted professionals who facilitated the 2024 national exams and assessments. Many professionals received their dues by the end of February 2024. However, some have experienced delays, leaving them frustrated despite successfully rendering their services.

Who Are KNEC Contracted Professionals?

KNEC hires various professionals to administer national examinations. These include:

  • Teachers (Examiners, Centre Managers, Supervisors, and Invigilators)
  • Drivers
  • Security Personnel

For those who have not yet received their payments, KNEC has identified several possible reasons and provided solutions to resolve these issues.

Reasons for Payment Delays & Solutions

1. Name Mismatch

Issue: The name in the CP2 portal does not match the registered MPesa name on the phone number provided. Solution: Create a new CP2 account using a Safaricom (M-Pesa) number registered with your official ID details.

2. Missing ID Number or TSC/PF Number

Issue: Your ID number or TSC/PF number is missing or incorrect in the CP2 system. Solution: Log into the CP2 portal and update your profile with the correct details.

3. Missing Documentation

Issue: Attendance registers were either not submitted or submitted without official stamps and signatures. Solution: Centre Managers should download the attendance registers from the CP2 portal, verify details, sign, stamp, and submit them to the Sub-County Director of Education (SCDE), who will forward them to KNEC.

4. Undeployed Professionals in the CP2 Portal

Issue: Some professionals worked but were not officially deployed in the CP2 system. Solution: Contact your SCDE and provide:

  • Year of service
  • Exam invigilated/supervised
  • Centre code
  • Name of officer
  • Role in the exam/assessment centre
  • Safaricom M-Pesa number (matching your ID details)

5. Delayed or Incomplete Data Submission

Issue: Late submission or incomplete records delayed processing. Solution: Ensure your data is accurate and complete, then resend it through the SCDE for processing.

KNEC Revised Payment Rates

  • Invigilators: Ksh 550 per day (Total: Ksh 8,800)
  • Centre Managers: Ksh 550 per day for both KPSEA and KCSE
