The Defence Cabinet Secretary commits Ksh80 million for the construction of a new dormitory at Moi Forces Academy
The Defence Ministry is set to allocate Ksh80 million to Moi Forces Academy in Nairobi for the construction of a second dormitory, announced CS Aden Duale. During the commissioning of a new dormitory at the institution, Duale expressed the government’s commitment to supporting the children of armed forces personnel, ensuring they receive quality education, healthcare, and decent housing for their families.
Duale, an alumnus of Moi Forces Academy, commended the institution for maintaining stellar performance, noting their impressive mean score of 8.345 in the 2023 KCSE examinations. He urged parents to use the e-Citizen platform for paying school fees, emphasizing its role in eliminating ghost schools and reducing corruption in the country.
While addressing students, Duale cautioned against drug abuse and engaging in activities detrimental to their studies and well-being. He pledged support in collaboration with other security organs to address drug abuse issues in sponsored schools.
Duale also promised that the Old Boys Association would contribute by purchasing two buses for the school to meet their transportation needs. Additionally, he committed to mobilizing the association to work with the Ministry of Education and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for funding infrastructural development projects and providing more teachers.
The CS was accompanied by the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF) Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi, Kenya Air Force Commander Major General John Omenda, and Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan.
