Kenya Education Update: KCSE Results Announcement by Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu

The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Ezekiel Machogu, is expected to announce the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results today, January 8, 2024, at Moi Girls in Eldoret. The Ministry of Education has not officially confirmed the location. Machogu previously stated that the results for the 903,260 candidates who completed exams in 2023 would be disclosed in the second week of January. Unlike previous years, the 2023 KCSE results will be accessible through the Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS) portal, where parents and candidates can input names and index numbers to obtain the results. This year’s results are significant as they align with a new grading scheme aimed at increasing university admissions. If released in Moi Girls, it will mark the first time the ministry unveils examination results outside Mtihani House in Nairobi.

Additionally, a list of the top fifty secondary schools nationally based on the KCSE 2022 mean scores is provided, with Nyambaria High School topping the list with a mean score of 10.89.
