TSC and Minet Overhaul Healthcare Services for Teachers with Enhanced Referral System

Teachers in Kenya can now access improved specialized medical care following a major overhaul of the referral management system under the TSC Teachers’ Medical Scheme.

Streamlined Referral Process for Better Healthcare Access

In collaboration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), Minet Kenya has revamped the referral system to ensure that teachers and their dependents receive timely access to specialized treatments, tests, procedures, and medications at designated hospitals.

After extensive consultations with TSC, Minet has identified 17 referral hospitals across Kenya to streamline the process. This move aligns with National Hospital Protocols, ensuring that only accredited Level 4, 5, and 6 hospitals handle specialized cases.

With a panel of over 800 medical service providers, approximately 60 facilities nationwide now operate strictly on a referral basis to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Commitment to High-Quality Healthcare for Teachers

Amid concerns over changes in the panel of accredited medical facilities, Minet has reassured teachers that they will continue to access seamless medical services from accredited providers within the Scheme.
