TSC Teacher Registration Requirements by Category
1. Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE)
📌 Certificate Level:
- KCSE mean grade of C (Plain)
- ECDE Certificate from KNEC
📌 Diploma Level:
- KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus) or higher
- Must enroll in a university diploma program
📌 Degree Level:
- KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus) or higher
2. Primary Teacher Education (PTE)
✅ KCSE mean grade of C (Plain) or higher
✅ PTE Certificate from KNEC
✅ Special Consideration: Candidates with visual or hearing impairments qualify with a KCSE grade of C- (Minus)
3. Diploma in Education
📌 KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus)
📌 Minimum C+ (Plus) in two specialization subjects
📌 English requirement: C (Plain) or higher
📌 Science-based courses: Minimum C (Plain) in Mathematics
📌 Non-science courses: Minimum D+ (Plus) in Mathematics
4. Bachelor of Education
✅ KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus) or equivalent
✅ Minimum C+ (Plus) in two specialization subjects
5. Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education
📌 KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus)
📌 Minimum C+ (Plus) in two specialization subjects
