The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has extended its partnership with Minet Kenya Insurance Brokers Limited, renewing their contract for the provision of medical insurance for teachers and their dependents for another two years. The renewed contract retains the comprehensive benefits previously provided since December 1, 2022, with coverage tailored to various job grades:

  1. Inpatient and Outpatient Coverage
    • Job Grade B5 (Primary Teacher II):
      • Inpatient: Ksh1 million
      • Outpatient: Ksh150,000
    • Job Grade D5 (Chief Principals):
      • Inpatient: Ksh3 million
      • Outpatient: Ksh450,000
  2. Additional Coverage Across All Grades
    • Dental: Ksh45,000
    • Optical: Ksh60,000
    • Maternity: Ranges from Ksh120,000 (B5) to Ksh300,000 (D5)
    • Last Expense: Ksh300,000

Eligibility and Dependents

The cover benefits all employed teachers aged 18 to 65 years, including:

  • One spouse.
  • Four dependent children (biological or adopted). Coverage extends to children up to 18 years, or 25 years if enrolled in recognized post-secondary institutions. Children with disabilities have no age limit.
