In the girls’ category, Ng’iya Girls from Siaya County emerged victorious by defeating Nyakach Girls of Kisumu with a score of 44-41. Under the guidance of coach Naftali Ambala, Ng’iya Girls showcased resilience and skill throughout the tournament. Ambala praised their opponents’ strength, emphasizing the significance of their hard-fought victory.
The tournament also witnessed notable victories in other disciplines. Ringa Boys High School claimed the hockey title, while Ulanda Girls and Manyatta Boys emerged victorious in handball. Asumbi Girls demonstrated prowess in swimming, securing first place with 59 points, followed closely by Chemelil and Kisumu Girls. In the boys’ swimming category, Kisumu School dominated with 89 points.
Additionally, Kisii County displayed dominance in both boys’ and girls’ cross-country events, securing 14 and 18 points, respectively. Nyamira County and Migori followed closely in second and third places, showcasing the region’s strong athletic talent. Kisii County also emerged as the overall winner in athletics, accumulating 146 points and reaffirming their prowess in sports.
