Tragic Accident Claims Lives of 11 Kenyatta University Students on Mombasa Road
Today, tragedy struck as 11 students from Kenyatta University lost their lives in a devastating road accident. The incident occurred when the bus they were traveling in collided with a truck, resulting in their immediate demise.
The ill-fated bus was transporting students to Mombasa for an academic excursion when the accident took place in the Maungu area along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, just a few kilometers outside Nairobi City. In addition to the tragic loss of life, 41 other students sustained critical injuries and were promptly rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention. Furthermore, the whereabouts of four additional students remain unknown at this time.
Unfortunately, this accident is not an isolated incident, as several other accidents involving students on educational excursions have occurred in recent days. Most notably, a similar accident claimed the lives of a student and a teacher from Kapsabet Boys High School, where their bus lost control on an unfamiliar road in Baringo.
As the authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these tragedies, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the students who lost their lives, and we offer our fervent prayers for the swift recovery of those injured. We remain committed to providing updates on any developments as they unfold.
